Las Golondrinas - Mexico

Las Golondrinas ("The Swallows") is a song written in 1862 by Narciso Serradell Sevilla, a Mexican physician. The poetry in the song describes a bird longing to return to its homeland. The became popular with Mexican people exiled from their homeland in the 19th century. It has gone on to be recorded by hundreds of famous musical artists in several different languages. It is commonly played by Mariachis. The play-along track below features an accompaniment with Guitarrón and Vihuela, the traditional Mariachi rhythm section instruments.
